Binghamton player puts Binghamton student in coma

We always hear about athletes behaving badly. But one story that has received no national coverage -- at least none that I can find -- is the story of Binghamton basketball player Miladin Kovacevic, who has been charged with second-degree assault after kicking another student so many times inside of a local bar that the student suffered serious head injuries and remains in critical condition.

The student, Bryan Steinhauer, is in a drug-induced coma.

Kovacevic  appeared in 18 games during the 2006-07 season and missed all of last season with an injury. He has been banned from campus until the matter is resolved, and what sparked the altercation remains under investigation.

Are some of you guys actually joking about this. I live in New York and about 2 hours away from Binghamton, as Gary said, not Bing Hampton as some other guy tried to suggest, and there has been no coverage on this story even here. I have a friend that goes to Binghamton and I've actually met this kid Miladin. He is referred to as "Minja" and is a beast. It happend at the Rathskellar nightclub in Binghamton and Minja left the scene after the incident. He was found, removed, and taken to jail from campus the following day. Great article Gary, finally some coverage on a big time story.
